The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Lebanese Regie for Tobacco ambushed a vehicle carrying large quantities of raw tobacco in the Galerie Semaan-Hadat region.
The illegal products found in the car, which came from the town of Mhammara, in the Akkar Governorate, were seized on the spot.
As part of the Regie’s ongoing efforts to seize smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products, the Anti-Trafficking Unit’s patrols also carried out a raid in Majdala (Akkar) and seized large quantities of smuggled foreign cigarettes and molasses (mu’assal).
Seizure reports were filed against the violators and sent to the competent judicial authorities for further action.
