The social hall was inaugurated on Tuesday in the town of Al-Babliyah located in Al-Zahrani district, following the completion of its rehabilitation project. The project was sponsored by the Regie and funded by Japan Tobacco International (JTI).
The ceremony was attended by the President – Director General of the Regie, Eng. Nassif Seklaoui, the General Director of JTI in Lebanon, Muhammad Jaber, the Mayor of Al-Bustan, Adnan Al-Ahmad, the Leaf Tobacco Manager, Engineer Abdel Mawla Al-Mawla, the Agriculture Manager, Engineer Jaafar Al-Husseini, and local residents.
In their speeches, Al-Ahmad and Jaber emphasized the significance of the Regie’s role in promoting sustainable development in rural areas and tobacco-growing villages. They commended the Regie’s initiatives to support farmers and their families, recognizing the challenges they face.
During the event, Seklaoui reaffirmed the Regie’s commitment to supporting all tobacco farmers, emphasizing that the Regie “will not abandon them, as it holds a responsibility towards them.”
