The Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs held an agricultural extension seminar in Al-Hosnieh village (Akkar) and Deir Nbouh (Dinnieh).
During this seminar, which focused on nursery management and the transfer of seedlings to permanent cropland, the head of the Agriculture and Purchasing Office in Northern Lebanon, Eng. Mahmoud al-Ahmad, stressed the importance of proper pesticide-use and the compliance with safety intervals. He also warned against the use of rubber bands in packaging operations, explaining that they negatively affect product quality.
Al-Ahmad affirmed that “the department remains at the service of farmers, in line with the directives of the Regie’s chairman and general manager, Eng. Nassif Seklaoui.”
