As part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation with research institutions and universities, the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs (Regie) welcomed students enrolled in the LAS 302 course at the Lebanese American University (LAU) on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The visit, organized at the invitation of Regie Management Committee Member Dr. Mazen Abboud, provided students with an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the manufacturing process and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used to assess performance.
Students from LAU’s Beirut and Byblos campuses attended an introductory film about Regie in the training hall, followed by a presentation delivered by Dr. Abboud, who also teaches the course at the university.
The students then toured the factory, where Regie’s team explained how performance and productivity are measured across the various stages of manufacturing.
Eng. Paul Ghanimeh, Head of the Manufacturing Department at Regie, also introduced the students to the processes involved in setting industrial objectives, managing inventory, and overseeing manufacturing operations.
