The Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs mourns Ahmad Hariri, one of its accredited photographers, whose work documenting the institution’s activities and events over the years left a lasting and distinctive mark.
Hariri was killed on Friday while carrying out his humanitarian duty as a paramedic.
He was on his way to assist civilians injured in an airstrike that targeted his hometown of Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr.
He had won second place in the 2025 “Manchar Souwar” photography contest for an image portraying the resilience of farmers in southern Lebanon and their determination to remain on their land and continue cultivating it despite the destruction caused by the Israeli aggression.
As it extends its deepest condolences to his family, colleagues and loved ones, the Regie remembers his humanity, his professional dedication and the powerful message he conveyed through his lens. May he rest in peace, and may his family be granted patience and comfort during this time of grief.
