The Chairman and General Manager of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tombacs Monopoly (Régie), Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, received the Director of Agriculture and Purchasing at the Régie, Jaafar Husseini, the Head of the Agriculture and Purchasing Department in North Lebanon, Dr. Mohammad Kabbara, and members of a Régie delegation that recently visited Türkiye at the invitation of Alliance One.
During the meeting, Seklaoui was briefed on the outcomes of the visit, during which the delegation explored the latest technologies used in tobacco sorting and modern agricultural practices, while also exchanging expertise and knowledge.
Seklaoui also received a commemorative gift from the delegation, which included Haytham Haddara, Hassan Tleiji, Karim Tersisi, and Mustafa Al-Masri from the Agriculture and Purchasing Directorate in North Lebanon.
The delegation was accompanied by Engineer Abbas Al-Shab.
The visit included a tour of the company’s facility in Izmir, where the Lebanese delegation learned about modern tobacco sorting technologies and exchanged expertise and information with their Turkish counterparts on working methods and technologies used in the field.
The delegation also visited several tobacco fields in Türkiye to gain firsthand insight into agricultural practices and the technologies used to develop and improve production.
The visit comes as part of the Régie’s efforts to provide its employees with opportunities to learn about modern technologies in tobacco cultivation and sorting and to benefit from advanced experiences and expertise in these fields.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation members expressed their gratitude to Engineer Nassif Seklaoui and the Director of Leaf Tobacco, Engineer Abdul Mawla Al-Mawla. They also praised the outcomes of the visit, highlighting its contribution to enhancing expertise and developing working methods.
