The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit molasses (mu’assal), in addition to smuggled cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.
These seizures were the result of raids in Bikfaya and Antelias.
In a statement, the Regie said that the raids were carried out as part of its “ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and counterfeiting of tobacco products.”
Seizure reports were filed against the violators and sent to the competent judicial authorities for further action.
