The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit molasses (mu’assal), counterfeit cigars, as well as smuggled Lebanese and Ajami tunbac, cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.
In a statement, the Regie said that these seizures were the result of raids in the city of Saida, in the village of Aaqbiyeh (Saida district), in Daraya, Ketermaya, Shehim, Mazraat al-Daher and Joun (Shouf district), and in Khalde (Aley district).
These raids were carried out as part of the Regie’s ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and counterfeiting of tobacco products.
