The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit molasses (mu’assal), counterfeit cigars, as well as smuggled Lebanese and Ajami tunbac, cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.
These seizures, which were the result of raids in Al-Tal, Al-Zahriye, Karm al-Elleh and Tripoli in northern Lebanon, were carried out as part of the Regie’s ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and counterfeiting of tobacco products.
Seizure reports were filed against the violators and sent to the competent judicial authorities for further action.
