As part of its efforts to strengthen collaboration with research institutions and universities, the Regie welcomed students enrolled in the LAS 302 course at the Lebanese American University (LAU), providing them with insights into cost analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality management systems.
During the visit, the students discovered how public enterprises differ from private companies and learned that they focus on economic efficiency rather than direct profitability. They also toured the production plant, where the staff explained how performance and productivity are measured throughout the production process.
Head of Quality Office Wanda Khattar delivered an interactive presentation on the relationship between work quality, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement, while Fahim Barakat, from the Financial Directorate, gave an analytical presentation on pricing methodology and how such analyses are used in strategic decision-making.
At the end of the visit, the students gained a deeper understanding of data-driven decision-making and recognized the importance of combining academic knowledge with practical application in the workplace.
