Seklaoui meets with heads of Akkar and northern Lebanon Tobacco and Tunbac Unions

The Regie’s chairman and general manager, Eng. Nassif Seklawi, received in his Hadat office on Monday the head of the Union of Tobacco and Tunbac Farmers and Workers in Akkar, Samir Khashfa, and on Tuesday the head of the Union of Tobacco and Tunbac Farmers in Northern Lebanon, Abdel Hamid Sakr.

Khashfa and Sakr both briefed Seklawi on the conditions of tobacco farmers in Akkar and northern Lebanon, expressing their hope that the Regie would expedite the crop collection process and consider increasing the purchase price.

Seklawi assured them that the matter would be taken into consideration and reiterated the Regie’s commitment to ensuring fairness for farmers and to providing them with the best possible conditions, especially in light of the current economic and living circumstances.
