The Lebanese Regie for Tobacco participated in the Novel Nicotine Expo & Tabexpo, held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Representing the Regie at the exhibition, Technical Consultant Salah Zeidan said that this participation aims to “closely monitor the latest global developments in the tobacco industry and trade.”
Zeidan added that the main goal of the exhibition, which was attended by leading manufacturers of cigarette production equipment, was the development of chewable nicotine products in order to overcome nicotine addiction while minimizing both direct and collateral damage.
The exhibition also focused on the adoption of paper filters instead of acetate filters.
Unlike acetate filters, which are non-biodegradable, paper filters decompose quickly and can be recycled, making it a more ecofriendly option.
