In an effort to strengthen financial efficiency and improve monitoring and oversight mechanisms, the Lebanese Regie for Tobacco organized a training session entitled “Cost Accounting and its Applications” on April 22 and 24 at its headquarters in Hadat, in collaboration with Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan.
A team from the Accounting, Legal Affairs, and Audit Department took part in the training, demonstrating the Regie’s commitment to developing internal competencies and enhancing its staff’s financial knowledge.
This initiative aimed to enhance overall performance and ensuring financial transparency.
The session, delivered by Dr. Tony Sakr, addressed the importance of cost accounting and its role in supporting decision-making.
It also explored ways to develop the Regie’s cost center implementation plan, highlighting the importance of assessing needs, identifying departments as cost units, structuring cost centers, elaborating a coding system tailored to these centers, and integrating them into the financial system to facilitate monitoring and reporting.
