The Regie: latest tobacco assorting plant in the Middle East in Ghazieh
Under the patronage of the MoF in the caretaker government Mr. Ali Hassan Khalil, represented by the Regie’s General Manager Mr. Nassif Seklaoui, the Regie’s most advanced in the Middle East tobacco assorting plant in Ghazieh was inaugurated today, Friday.
The ceremony was attended by the Mufti of Tyre Cheikh Hassan Abdallah, the chief of the Federation of Az Zahrani Coast Municipalities, Mr. Ali Matar, President Berri’s Msaileh Office Manager Brigadier General Mohammad Srour, and representatives of military and security figures in South, as well as the Municipal Chief and mayors of Ghazieh.
In addition, were attending the Regie’s Members of Administration; Mr. Georges Hobeika, Dr. Issam Salman, and Mr. Mazen Abboud, the Government’s Depute Mrs. Mirna Baz, Financial Supervisor Mr. Anis Iskandar, as well as several figures from the Regie. Plus, were attending the Chief of the Syndicate of laborers and staff of the Regie Libanaise Des Tabacs Et Tombacs, Mr. Kamal Yatim, the Chief of The Sports Committee of Regie Mr. Rafik Sbeity, The Chief of the Syndicate of tobacco farmers in South Mr. Hassan Fakif, representatives of foreign companies, traders with the Regie, and number of Heads of Sales.
The Manager of Tobacco Leaf Mr. Abdel Mawla Al Mawla underlined that the new plant “is a pioneer plant in the world”, and that choosing Al Ghazieh to host the plant “reflects the Regie’s approach and vision, as well as its decisive position and firm principles”. He added that the current represents “one of a series of steps and projects; some of them was executed and other still waiting. As well, it expresses a global vision of a nationwide successful administration, whose latest achievement was being awarded the ISO certification; the first public facility to achieve such milestone.”
Later, a documentary was showed, reviewing the execution phases, then Mr. Seklaoui cut the ribbon and inaugurated the plant with a walk in the place, accompanied by the attendees.
