The Chairman and Director General of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tombacs Regie (Regie), Eng. Nassif Seklaoui, received on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, MP Ashraf Baydoun, a member of the Development and Liberation Parliamentary Bloc, accompanied by a delegation from Hanine Municipality in the Bint Jbeil District.
The delegation included the Municipality’s President, Hassan Kachakech, and several members of the Municipal Council.
Separately, Seklaoui received the President of the Western Baalbek Union of Municipalities, Eng. Ahmad Al-Ozair, accompanied by a delegation that included the President of Kfar Dan Municipality, Hamad Haidar, and the town’s Mukhtar, Ayman Haidar, along with the Presidents of the Municipalities of Qasr Naba, Mohammad Al-Dirani; Saeeda, Mushref Al-Hajj Youssef; and Hadath Baalbek, Ali Hassan Zeaiter.
The meeting, attended by the President of the Regie Retirees Association, Rafik Sbeiti, and the Director of Leaf Tobacco, Eng. Abdul Mawla Al-Mawla, addressed the situation of tobacco farmers in the Baalbek region, the challenges they face, and various issues related to the sector.
