Chairman and Director General of the Lebanese Regie for Tobacco and Tombacs (Regie), Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, received Director General of Customs Gracia El-Kazzi at his office on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, accompanied by a delegation from the Directorate General of Customs.
The meeting focused on cooperation between the two institutions, strengthening coordination at the highest level, facilitating matters of mutual interest, particularly in the field of combating smuggling.
The meeting was attended by members of Regie’s Board of Directors, Engineer Georges Hobeika, Dr. Issam Salman, Dr. Mazen Abboud and Engineer Imad Bassat; representatives of the supervisory authority, Government Commissioner Mirna Baz and Financial Controller Carole Youssef; Financial Director Wael Dergham; Head of the Shipping and Insurance Department Hussein Nasrallah; and Head of Regie’s Anti-Smuggling Office Elie Geagea.
Seklaoui presented the Director General of Customs with a copy of “Ninety”, the documentary book chronicling the history of Regie, while El-Kazzi, in turn, presented him with a commemorative shield.
At her office, Head of the General Directorate Department and Quality Director Mariam Hariri provided an overview of Regie’s renewed certification last year under two international ISO standards, one related to quality management and the other to occupational health and safety.
Accompanied by Seklaoui, El-Kazzi toured Regie’s facilities and was briefed on its operations. The tour included the Finance Department and the Information Technology Office, where its Head, Ali Kobeissi, provided an overview of the office’s work.
