Jaber and Seklaoui discuss tobacco farmers’ situation, upcoming launch of new production line
The Regie’s chairman and general manager, Eng. Nassif Seklaoui, met with Finance Minister Yassine Jaber and briefed him on the situation of tobacco farmers in southern Lebanon, particularly those who lost their crops. He outlined the difficulties facing farmers who remain in besieged villages and the obstacles preventing them from delivering their harvests.
The meeting focused on several proposals aimed at helping farmers and sustaining tobacco cultivation.
Seklaoui updated Jaber on preparations for the upcoming launch of a production line for new cigarette varieties in cooperation with Philip Morris. The discussion also covered the project’s expected financial results, based on relevant studies.
The two officials then addressed several administrative and financial matters related to the Regie’s operations.
