Regie seizes smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products in Saida, Rmeileh and Ain al-Helwe

The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit molasses (mu’assal), in addition to smuggled Lebanese and Ajami tunbac, cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.

These seizures were the result of raids in Saida, Rmeileh and the Taamir and Villat neighborhoods of Ain al-Helwe.

In a statement, the Regie said that the raids were carried out as part of its “ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and counterfeiting of tobacco products.”
