A delegation from Philip Morris International (PMI) visited the Regie’s headquarters in Hadat, where it was briefed on the cigarette factory’s operations and on the latest developments concerning the company’s new production line.
The delegation included PMI Lebanon’s General Manager Amr Taha, Regional Maintenance and Operations Manager Baris Karacaoglu, Operations Manager in Lebanon Eng. Sleiman Iskandar, and External Affairs and Relations Manager in Lebanon Marianne Hanna.
The delegation was welcomed by the head of the Regie’s Manufacturing Department, Eng. Paul Ghanimeh, in the presence of manufacturing team member Jawad Bsaibes.
The meeting focused on the development of cooperation between the two institutions, the measures introduced by the factory management to modernize operating and quality-control procedures, and the significant improvement achieved in production efficiency and product quality in line with PMI standards.
During the meeting, the participants also discussed a project aimed at strengthening the role of the factory team and enabling it to coordinate directly with PMI’s central operations team, thereby helping develop local capabilities and support operational continuity.
Ghanimeh briefed the delegation on the factory’s plans to expand its production capacity and enhance staff efficiency through training and professional development programs.
He also highlighted the growth in the share of PMI products manufactured locally.
The delegation then toured the Regie’s laboratories, where Laboratory and Quality Control Office Head Wissam Husseini detailed the inspection and testing procedures used to ensure product quality and compliance with technical specifications.
The visit concluded with a tour of the cigarette factory, during which the delegation observed the various stages of production on the new PMI line.
Factory Maintenance Office Head Fadi Fakhoury explained the technical aspects of the work completed, after which the delegation attended a trial run.
