Regie seizes smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products in Saida, and Shouf districts

The Anti-Trafficking Unit of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs seized large quantities of smuggled and counterfeit molasses (mu’assal), counterfeit cigars, as well as smuggled Ajami tunbac, cigarettes and electronic cigarettes.

These seizures were the result of raids in Wardanieh and Wadi al-Zayne (Shouf district), in Helalieh (Saida district) and in the city of Saida.

In a statement, the Regie said that the raids “were carried out as part of the Regie’s ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and counterfeiting of tobacco products.”

Seizure reports were filed against the violators and sent to the competent judicial authorities for further action.
