Seklawi honors Lebanese Mahdi Ghazal for his excellence in nanotechnology for neuroelectronics

Last Thursday, the Regie’s chairman and general manager, Nassif Seklawi, honored nanotech engineer for neuroelectronics, Dr. Mahdi Ghazal, for being the first Lebanese to specialize in this field.

Seklawi welcomed Ghazal in his office at the Regie’s headquarters in Hadat, in the presence of Board of Director members. During the meeting, Seklawi presented the engineer with an honorary shield in recognition of his achievements, a gesture aimed at encouraging Lebanese talents.

Ghazal is currently working as a research and development application engineer at MaxWell Biosystems AG in Zurich, Switzerland.

Ghazal received his PhD from the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN) of the French National Institute for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Lille, France.

In 2023, he was awarded the 2nd prize in the French National Competition for the Best Doctoral Research in the Nanotechnology Field.

After earning a degree in microelectronics and nanoelectronics engineering from ESIEE Paris, which specializes in technological innovation in the areas of digital, energy and environmental transformation, Ghazal worked as an assistant professor at ISEN Engineering School in Lille.
