During the reception by His Excellency, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, of the Regie’s Management Committee led by its President - Director General, Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, Dr. Mazen Abboud presented His Excellency with a copy of his doctoral thesis, for which he received a doctorate in economics with distinction from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, certified by MacMaster University. The thesis studied the revenues and costs of the sector, specially focusing on the Regie between 2016 and 2019.
Abboud thanked His Excellency for his support to the Regie, as well as the Regie President, members of the committee, and all his colleagues for their cooperation in completing his study. He dedicated his thesis to the steadfast farmers and to everyone striving to make the country a better place, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining the monopoly to achieve economic efficiency, reduce consumption, and increase incomes.
In response, Speaker Nabih Berri congratulated Dr. Abboud on his achievement and praised his efforts. Berri highlighted the importance of continuous learning as a fundamental pillar for building a better future for Lebanon.
